WINE TESTING
FESTIVAL
‘’ A meal without
wine it’s like a day without sunshine”
According to Bowdin, et.al (2012) states that event planning is an
organized occasion such as a meeting, convection, exhibition, special event,
gala dinner, etc. Francistown Golf club is well known as hosting the most
memorable event in the city. They organized and planned the wine testing Festival,
hotels, lodges, restaurant and the community were invited to learn about wines
and given the opportunity to tastes different wines .Every event is unique, stemming
from the blend of management, program, setting and people.
At the event people where taught about the history of the wine and that
the most produced wine comes from Europe.
Wine is the alcoholic beverage obtained from the fermentation of the juice
of freshly gathered grapes (Walker and Walker. 2014). Wine is produced in small
areas of the world where there is sufficient sun to ripen the grape and winters
that are moderate yet sufficiently cool to give the vine a chance to rest and
restore its strength for the growing and fruiting season to provide juice of
the quality necessary for conversion into a drinkable wine ( Lillicrap and
Cousins.2010).The wines were arranged to their classification(red, white and
rose). After the lecturing the guest were given chance to go around the stalls
to tastes the wine and be able to differentiate it with others. They also learned
how to serve wines with the right meals.
