HOSPITAL “BRING HOPE TO THE PATIENTS”
People only associate catering to commercial institution but also not
putting more effort on non-commercial institution that saves life of many e.g.
hospitals. Scottish Government (2008) Food need to be fully accepted by all
members of the clinical team as vital to patients well being to their medical
care and recovery plan. That’s why hospitality BAC class find it paramount
importance to organize an event that will help to understand commercial and
non- commercial institution above all competence, communication and compassion
are most important aspects that is applied I hospital catering.
Compassion is how care is given through relationship based on empathy
respect and dignity (Griffith,.2001.).It is witnessed that internal relationship is also known of great
importance to insure that all catering management and associated clinical team worked
together to meet the individuals needs and expectation which enhance not only
the patients but the staff and visitors, overall experience.
According to Laurance (2011)
states that competence means that all those
in caring roles must have the ability to understand an individual needs. It is identified
that the kitchen has the right people in the right place at the right time and
that the catering team consists of wide range of skills and experience. Meals
are prepared according to dietician recommendation per patients especially in
the section that is responsible for the meal type while other sections prepare
for general meals, examples pastry section, salad section and hot kitchen. Task
are carried out in efficiently manner to meet meal time for patients
