FUN
DAY
As BAC students we organized and
planned a fun day sporty activity. (Wendroff, .2004) explains fun day to an
activity or situation as fun, if you think it is pleasant and enjoyable and it
causes you to feel happy. It was
held on the 28th march 2015 at the FCTVE sports ground. There are
certain aspects that were considered during the planning of the event like communication.
COMMUNICATION
According to Burke, (2010) defines communication as the sharing of information between two or more individuals or groups to reach a common understanding and also woods and King (2002) states that communication is simply the act of transferring information from one place to another. They are different categories of communication but Spoken or verbal communication was mostly used at the event. There was effective communication between the kitchen department and service team, when there was changes on the menu because of lack of commodities to inform the guest and on when to take the food to the grounds. (Adler and Elmhorst, 1999) states that listening is the most frequent aspect of workplace communication. Working together as a team shows that the event planners were listening to each other and respecting each other decisions or ideas. This leads to a successful event at the end of the day.
